A beautiful island, sun, sea, beaches, ice cream, … What more do you need? Tenerife is the perfect destination for a typical summer holiday. I explored the island with two of my best friends!
What I did
We stayed at a hotel in Costa Adeje nearby Siam Park and Siam Mall. Siam Park is known as the best water park in the world. We had a great time there, it was so much fun. There’s something to enjoy for everyone. Sadly, we did not take any pictures at the park, but make sure to check it out!
Costa Adeje itself is also worthwhile: lovely beaches (such as Los Christianos and Playas de las Americas), the Tenerife Hard Rock Cafe, colorful houses, great bars, etc.

Not far from Costa Adeje, we stumbled upon Monkey Park, a small zoo where you can walk through some of the cages and feed the animals. We all love socializing with those cute little creations. Later we went to Camel Park where we could enjoy camel rides. I think that was the first time I saw a reel camel. They offer a free pick-up service too.
The most beautiful moment of my trip to Tenerife was definitely in Los Gigantes. It’s a peaceful, little town with impressive rock formations. I would recommend you to make a reservation to take a boat trip: you can spot whales and dolphins, swim in the clear ocean, and take a close look at the gorgeous Masca Valley.
I couldn’t take off without paying a visit to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This is the cultural center of the island, and there is so much to see and do. We strolled around the city, especially through the older part.
Some recommendations
- When you’re in Tenerife, keep some spare time to check out the biggest volcano on the island, El Teide. On clear days at the top, you will be able to spot the silhouettes of nearby islands such as La Gomera, El Hierro, La Palma, and Gran Canaria.
- Take a boat out and make a day trip to the island La Gomera. From Los Christianos you can cross the ocean by ferry.
- It’s easy and cheap to travel around by bus. But it’s definitely worthwhile to rent scooters and cruise around yourselves.
- Tenerife has lovely temperatures, even in the evening it’s nice with 20 degrees. Get yourself some wine and snacks, head to the nearest beach and find a peaceful spot in the sand. Enjoy the summer breeze and the beautiful sunset!

All year around we look forward for summer break. Maybe a trip to Tenerife awaits you next summer? Either way, I hope you enjoyed this post. 🙂
See you around, xoxo
